21 Day Fix - Week 1 Menu

Here's what I came up with for week 1. It started out as a terribly daunting task, but about 5 minutes into my planning session I was having fun! Something about the foods being color-coded made meal planning feel like a game.

I will be adding tons more spices, vinegars, hot sauce, etc. but I didn't add them to this list. I'm a real-food loving girl and my food has to be tasty! This is a general menu and I'm positive that I will make changes as I go (because I'm a rebel.) Like this morning I switched out my oatmeal and ate sweet potato with pumpkin spice instead. mmmmm.

  1. Which calorie grouping is this for? 1200-1400, 1400-1800 etc?

  5. Hi,
I saw this on pinteres and decided to write you. I am very interested and thinking about starting the 21 day fix program. I have one question and hope you can help me. Is this ok to do while breastfeeding? Thanks for your time. I just found your blog and like it. You have tons of information.:)

    1. I think this is a great diet to do while breastfeeding because you will be taking in a whole lot of nutrition! Just make sure you add about 500 calories to your diet to compensate for the baby. If you lower your calories too much it can lower your milk supply. Be patient with yourself while breastfeeding though because your body will crave more foods and your body might hold on to some of the weight to make sure you can feed your baby. Show your body lots of love during this important time. :) Great question!

  6. I am also thinking of starting this diet. Do you HAVE to use Shakeology or can you use any protein shake?
What advice would you give someone one day 1?

    1. You don't have to use Shakeology. You can use a good quality protein shake. I used Shakeology as one of my red protein containers for the day so you can replace it with a protein shake or other type of protein.
My best advice for anyone starting out on this type of diet is to be patient with yourself and to show love to your body no matter what. I am not a typical "dieter" and I believe that creating life long habits is so much better than doing a 21 day program. I would recommend that you find healthy foods that you love and make them a permanent part of your diet even after the 21 days is over. Learn to enjoy how amazing it feels to be eating healthy, nutrient rich foods. The more you really love the foods and how they make you feel the more likely you are to eat them later too. See the 21 Day fix as a stepping stone on your road to a healthy life. :) Keep it simple and fun. I hope that helps you. I wish you all the best through this journey of finding health and happiness!

  7. Hi there! My husband and I are looking to complete the 21 day fix to get on board with eating healthier and just make better choices. I was looking at your sample menus. I noticed that sometimes you have a Shakeology shake as a snack. I thought that these shakes are used as a meal replacement?

  8. Is the oatmeal measured as cooked or uncooked in the container
